REFURBISHMENT

About the Project

Marion House is a semi-detached residential care home in Bournemouth, for adults with intellectual disabilities.

The project involves a full refurbishment of this large residential property, including the removal of floor coverings, doors, frames, kitchens, bathrooms, wallpaper, and some internal walls.

 One of the first tasks on the project was the removal of all floor coverings. This involved removing old carpets, tiles, and other materials and preparing the floors for new coverings. We will also remove some doors, frames, architraves, and skirting and replace them with new ones. Additionally, we will be installing new ironmongery to complete the new look of the doors.

The project also involved new walls and structural openings, including the installation of a lift.  Three new kitchens and eight new bathrooms/en-suites, as well as re-skimming the walls and refurb of windows.

In addition, we installed a new conservatory and a new flat roof covering and carried out extensive gardening works, including re-pointing works and cleaning all fascia/soffits/gutters and the main pitch roof. We will also be jet-washing all hardstanding areas to make them look new.

To ensure that the property is secure, we installed CCTV and an intercom system, which will allow the residents to communicate with visitors and to control access to the property.
